Another London Experience

I've lived in England for 4 years now but I would still find it beautiful each time I visit Central London. Every time, there is something to see and to experience in the city - London is full of life! This time, my sister and I decided to take the cruise across the River Thames. Because why not see the city in a different perspective, right? But this was not just a normal cruise, we rode a speed boat. We geared up with a waterproof coat and a lifejacket and we were ready to go (Just a warning, the coats could smell). It was so much more thrilling than a normal cruise. We bounced around, the strong wind almost blew our heads off, water splashed, we went so quick we had to hold on to the rails and sightsee all at the same time! My sister and I were laughing the whole journey. It was a crazy but awesome way to see London!

** I suggest you book with London RIB Voyages for this experience. All staff were friendly and informative, it was safe and it was fun. Note that they offer different types of rides. We went for the 50 minute ride that included both a sightseeing tour and speed. :) **

After the 50 minute speedy ride, we grabbed something to eat at Covent Garden. But before we got to Covent Garden, we had to conquer 193 steps UP the stairs from where we got off the tube. Damn girl, that was a lot of steps. I felt my legs going stiff and I thought they were going to fall off and I won't be able to make it to the top. The Covent Garden underground station was on construction which I think explains why there was no escalators and there was only a single lift for everyone to use. We ain't got time to wait for the lift to transport a hundred people until it was our turn. So we went for the stairs with 193 steps. It was the worst decision.

The stairs that almost killed me.

By the time we finished our struggle with the stairs, all our energy was gone, but at least we made it to Covent Garden. It looked extra pretty with loads of balloons on the ceiling. We also tried Shake Shack for the first time. I'd say it's a more posh version of McDonald's definitely, which explains the price. It was quite expensive considering the size of the burger, but the taste justified for it. I went for the Shack Meister burger and my first bite was very tasty, and the meat was cooked medium. I wasn't very sure if it was intentional to cook the meat pink or they cooked it wrong, but I was so hungry I just ate it. The funky looking fries were good too. We only ordered one drink because I ain't spending another 3 pounds for soda.

The portions may look small, but I was full after this meal. I almost looked pregnant.

That's not me by the way. That's my sister.

We left Covent Garden then visited the Natural History Museum. I haven't been to this museum in yeaaaars. That's why it felt like I was seeing it all over again for the first time. I went "ooooh.. aaaahh.. wooow!" everywhere I looked.

I think she's the prettiest cheetah ever.

One tip: if you want to visit museums in London with the least number of visitors possible, go on a weekday. Also, it is free to go in the museum, but they have to check your bags first before going in. The Natural History museum is massive. So if you really want to see everything the museum has, allot the whole day. Or if you really don't have much time, just pick the sections you're most interested about. In my case, it was the sections of the gemstones and the Dinosaurs.

On our way back to Waterloo....

Before we went home, we stopped by the arcade to relive some of our childhood memories by playing this basketball game. We got the skills for shooting basketballs, you know.

After scoring 173 points, we finally made our way to the train station to head home. It was the perfect timing because it was rush hour. The train was so full, I felt like I was in a can of sardines. I was just really thankful no one had BO on the train ride going home...
