Beach Day out

Today I am reminded that I can be happy doing the simplest things. I arrived really early on the beach, I think everyone was still asleep by then. Because it was just me who stood there and faced the ocean. It was calm, it was quiet. I walked barefooted along the shores, felt the sand on my toes and waves crashed against my ankles. I collected seashells and stones as I walked along. I spent hours picking out the best looking ones and kept them in my little bag to take home. I laid out my blanket on the sand and lay down under the sun until I fell asleep. I was awakened by children running around and shouting. They acted like they have been finally set free. I watched them play and I laughed too when they did. I loved how the wind tangled my hair and made it sticky, the sound of the waves that was so calming. The way that I didn't have to worry what time it was because I wasn't in a hurry and I didn't have to meet any deadline. I loved that I was calm and in the moment. I took everything slowly and felt at peace and happy. I guess it's safe to say that being near the sea would always be my happy place.
